Be Clever With Leather. Part Three.

Hello My Stylish Sunrisers, how are you? This is my last installment of 'Be Clever With Leather' and I must say, it's my favourite. Minus the amazing figure, bum and face I do feel a little Kim Kardashian in this sleek and simple outfit. There's no doubting that black clothing has never looked better with all the different textures, styles and accessories being included; not only that but black is such a slimming colour and for me it gives me a bit more confidence.

I teamed the my River Island leather skirt with a basic black top from Primark and black lace up heels from Miss Selfridge. This look shows that when you chose one statement piece for an outfit like this skirt then you don't have to spend loads of money on styling the rest of the outfit. Simplicity sells and this year chic is really powerful. This skirt is an absolute winner in my book but if your not into black pieces then this skirt also comes in cream, grey and baby pink so get your leather on girls.

Black is no longer boring so fall head over heels for those darker shades. Like this look? Well check out how I've styled this skirt differently with my two previous posts. Be Clever With Leather. Part One. Be Clever With Leather. Part Two.

Be Clever With Leather. Part Two.

.Warning. This is part two of 'Be Clever With Leather' so if you haven't seen number one then click HERE ...If you have then your in the right place so stay right here ;) If you follow my blog you'll know how much I've blogged about Paisley and if I'm honest you can never get enough so of course I was going to team this leather skirt with my Camden shirt. This has taken me far too long to blog as I wore it on New Years Eve. I love to make a statement with what I wear and this outfit doesn't disappoint; with the vintage shirt and cute leather skirt. Blending modern and vintage pieces is one of my favourite things to do as it can add great dimensions to an outfit.

I paired the skirt and shirt with these really thin black tights and killer heels from Boohoo. The tights and heels add a really sexy edge to this outfit without going too over the top. Always remember boobs or legs girls; when dressing up I always like to either have my legs on show or the other end. I'm sure men would disagree but showing off one or the other keeps it classy but sexy too. These boots are my go to heels for a night out! I look a bit like bambi on ice in heels but these boots are super supportive and really comfortable with the hidden platform.

Be Clever With Leather. Part One.

So this week is going to be all about how to style one of my favourite pieces that I have in my wardrobe. The leather, a-line, skirt. I'll be showing you three ways of rocking this look, so stay tuned for all three looks. Firstly we have a simple monochrome outfit which I personally think is such a timeless way to make a statement. I opted for an oversized, baseball inspired, top from Asos teamed with a pair of chunky platforms from Fashion Union.

Regardless of your age, height, weight or age the A-line skirt is perfect for you all. The flattering cut sucks you in at the waist and narrowly misses your hips which is why I love this skirt so much; you can't see it as much with this look as I've kept the top untucked but like I've said before I have massive hips (I really need to start wearing a wide load sign) so I find this such a flattering shape for me.

Cheeky photo bomb from my gorgeous pup Murphy and that is look one complete. Simple and easy outfit for everyday depending on what shoes you team it with.

Double Denim

So this week I'm giving you another look into one of this year's must haves and today is all about the kick of the denim. Denim will be all over the place this Spring but with details, textiles and shapes you wouldn't have seen with denim before. I kept it simple though with this oversized jacket and acid wash jeans, teamed with a cropped gingham top. Whether it be little or a lot, baring your waist will be a really strong statement this year and can easily be dressed up or down with a pair of jeans or a matching skirt.

Double Denim has to be my guilty pleasure and whether you like it or not there's no doubting Double Denim is an excellent way of standing out and is extremely quirky which is what I think fashion should be all about. Styled with this platform sandals it keeps the outfit super simple and clean. I've blogged about these shoes before but trust me when I say, they are THE bomb!

The Do's and Dont's of Double Denim:

Do: Experiment with different shades of denim to hide and flatter certain part of your body. Dark shades as we know are more slimming and lighter shades draw more attention.

Don't: Wear an outfit with exactly the same colour denim as it will be too matchy-matchy.

Don't: Wear Denim accessories. Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears may disagree but denim shoes and hats are a big no no ;)

Do: Know what jeans suit your body shape. There's nothing worse than a pair of unflattering jeans.

Dream Eyes

So I was given the chance to blog about coloured contact lenses; I was a little dubious of this at first as I've never used contacts before and I'm really not a great fan of things in my eyes (like most people I'm sure ;)) but after looking into a bit more I was really keen to try these out as its surprising how eye colour can make you look so different.
Spooky Eyes are a company that don't just specialise in Halloween lenses (like there name suggests) but also Natural looking contacts which are my favourite, especially these Emerald Green Lenses. I was sent the Glimmer Black and Silver Lenses and they were a lot subtler than I expected, after getting past the whole putting something in my eye, they were really easy to get in and out and really comfortable.
Below is a picture of me with one lense in,  the left is my normal eye colour and the right is with the lense. Spooky Eyes gives you the chance to create a glamorous and stylish look which makes your eyes really pop. I got so many comments from people and it was a lot of fun to have eyes that really stood out from the crowd for the day.
The picture below is with both contacts in and I really love how much of an impact they made but it wasn't too much. Now I'm not saying I'd wear them every day but for special occasions they are perfect if you simply fancy a change.
I really can't recommend these enough so get creative and head over to Spooky Eyes and check it out for yourself.

Paisley + Knee High Boots

I can't believe how long it has taken me to blog these pieces as they are my favourite things right now. If you know me then you'll know I'm slightly (absolutely) obsessed with Paisley Print and luckily for you and me Paisley is bang on trend right now. This Paisley dress is so easy to dress up or down with a leather jacket and a pair of cute heeled sandals or can simply be tucked into a pair of jeans for a dressed down look.
The dress/shirt is from Missguided and I really can't fault them; there never ending lines are so sleek and stylish, it's just a dream to flick though there pictures. This Paisley pick will be perfect for the summer too (if it ever comes) as it's really light weight and super silky. Now admittedly the shape of the dress isn't the best for my body as the fabric hits my mahoosive hips and makes me look a little bigger than am but if I'm honest I don't really care as it's just completely won me over.

Where do I start with these boots? I mean they are just heaven! So comfortable, fit perfectly and like the dress they can be teamed with just about anything. The only thing I would say is that when you've worn them a few times the fabric has loosened slightly so I have found that I'm hitching them up a bit but other than that they are as supportive as a pair of spanx.

Power Flowers

I was lucky enough to have this beautiful floral skirt sent to me by The Fashion Bible, admittedly it is a two piece but sadly the puppies didn't want to stay in it so I had to change it up a bit. If I'm honest I'm not really a girly girl and don't like wearing much colour but this skirt really won me over. Even though the skirt on it's own didn't scream my name the whole outfit really does. It was a grower ;)

Now the skirt and top to me really reminds me of Ascot and would be perfect matched with a cute pink clutch and matching heels. For me though I matched it with this quirky top from eBay and the platform heels which were and absolute steal from Fashion Union. You really can't go wrong with a bit of floral print for Spring/Summer being very popular with Chanel, House of Holland and Michael Kors. Every year we always get a flash of the florals but this year it's about the bold, bright and big flowers. Power to the flower. The fashion bible are winning in the style stakes already with the beautiful array of floral prints they have for you. Not only are they bang in trend, but super affordable. I cannot recommend them enough. If you want to steal my style then simply check out the links below.

Top Tip:
Floral patterns can be bright, bold and brash but you can easily tone them down like me by adding a little bit of edge to your look with a leather or denim jacket depending on what your wearing with it but most of all make sure you feel comfortable in what your wearing and that will make you shine. Dress for yourself.

Wing it

From ever since I can remember I have been using liquid eyeliner to get that winged effect. I hate to leave the house without my flicks (or SHA-TINGS as I call them) and feel sooo naked without them on. If I'm in a rush and don't have time to put them on then I'll always get the classic 'Are you ok?' Or 'You look tired' and let's be honest none of us want to hear that. Anyway I've always used the cheap and cheerful black liquid eyeliner from Barry M but I really fancied a change as I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my eye make up and I wanted something that I could apply quicker and easier. So I went on the hunt looking at reviews and pictures and sort of fell in love with the Benefit They're Real! Push-Up Liner but if I'm honest I really couldn't justify paying £18.50 for eyeliner. I found that Maybelline make one very similar and is better priced for me at £8.99.
This is unlike any eyeliner I've used before with the silicon-tip applicator it made it so easy to apply and create whatever sort of definition or drama you want to create. This product promises long lasting drama and I can personally promise you it doesn't disappoint; it's waterproof, crack proof, tear proof and smudge proof (basically all day proof). The only way I could fault it would be the fact it's so difficult to wipe off if you make a mistake but of course perfect when you want coverage for the entire day. I honestly cannot rave about this item enough and is definitely a must have in your make up bag. Click below to get your hands on it and create some long lasting drama.

Liquid Liner Tips:
  • If you have a really unsteady hand like me, place dots on your eyelid and just join them up.
  • Winging you eyeliner down instead of up will give you much more of a wide eyed look.
  • For perfectly matching wings trace the wing on each eye before filling it in.
  • Always apply your eyeshadow before your eyeliner.

I hope you enjoyed and get SHA-TINGing ;)
